Contact page broken
Dear Rupert, or whoever is going to be GWOA Committee and manage the website...
Several have tried to contact you, but the Contact form is broken because of the use of an outdated CAPTCHA mechanism. Perhaps it (captcha) can be removed altogether, because I doubt you are getting much Spam. Then Members and potential members will have a way to email/contact you directly.
At the moment, the only option is to create a Forum post and hope it gets responded to. So far that hasn't happened, even though the website has had the occasional update.
Regards.
I have very limited knowledge regarding website management, but have, I think, switched off CAPTCHA for mail contact.
Thanks
Rick
This is Captcha issue requesting an ungrade which is not being executed for some reason by GWOA administration. All it will mean that instead of dicipering and entering the radom code generated before pressing the send button we might be asked to pick out pictures from a collage of pictures or other.
We have only a mole hill at present but the matter seems to be a Mountain - I have an incline but it would be foolish of me to spill the beans in public and exasabate the issue more than it probably is - afterall, I could be wrong in my conjecture.
Now, Now Nick,
You know better than that; like I mentioned I could be totally wrong and it would not be fair on those involved in the issue if at all.
Never-the-less, I am working closer to be affording, or have broadband service sponseredd to me, perhaps in the New Year. After which I will probably be able to afford more time to devote to the GWOA.
Regards,
Hi Rakesh,
Is the broadband problem becasue you live where Bt can't provide a reasonable service down the telephone line? If so then you're in a similar situation to me - when they can be bothered to do a proper check then BT admit they would only be able to supply broadband at 250Kb/s - laughable in the 21st century.
Since we moved here, ten years ago, we've relied on mobile broadband. The service has improved considerably and now get 4G via EE with download speed of between 15Mb/s and 20Mb/s. Have just taken advantage of offer of 100Gb per month @ £35 per month. More expensive than fixed line broadband - but it's one of the prices you have to pay for living away from it all.
Hello Mark,
I have no coverage problems in my area but my issue is affordability of broadband. I am still unemployed and have not able to budget for it's service. My financial situation is slowly and graduately improving and recently one of the unemployment trusts working with me have indicated they might sponsor broadband for me, if that happens I would be able to afford my evenings and weekends on the internet and would be able to contribute more time than I currently can, towards the GWOA.
I agree with you that mobile broadband is expensive.
Thank you. A test contact message was sent - at least it said sent, but also had 2 errors on the page above that. I did ask to be sent a copy of the message, but that didn't arrive. So I don't know if the test message did actually go.
Maybe just replace the whole page with a paragraph saying to email: admin@gwoa.co.uk which is listed on the Members page. I assume that would get to you.
