Hello

Can anyone help with this - I have put a VIN into the Russian VIN decoder and can see the basic information (such as shipment date, cab, engine number, order number, paint code etc) but then there are a load of numbers in two columns, one headed Group and the other headed Nomer SA.  An example is 21 (Group) and 028 557/19 (Nomer SA).  I assume all of these relate to the vehicle's options but is there an easy way of correlating these numbers with the actual option.

Thanks

Re: Codes

Really interested to see your post as I used to use this VIN decoder but it stopped working a year or so ago. Maybe they moved it. Can you post the correct link?

Re: Codes

OK - thanks.

It used to be much much better - for one thing it was available in English.

Anyone know of another way to check which options vehicles left the factory with?

Re: Codes

If you right click on the page then there is an option to translate to English

Re: Codes

PM me your VIN number and i can send an English Version

In simple terms you have 2 types of codes

i.e.

R78 this is a sales code that was specified by the original owner over and above the standard build option...

In this case a wheel option....

That then translates into a SA or Special Application or Special Version codes that lets the parts guys know what parts are involved

i.e.

020176/16 this is referring to SA 020176 and within that SA it refers to Column or Option 16

In general it is the sales codes that give you the spec of the vehicle

In the old Micro Fiche days the parts guy need to know the SA codes also, with the modern EPC the system looks at all the codes automatically to help the parts guys come up with the required parts

Hope that helps?!?
