BBC Topgear has rated the G as one of the top 100 coolest cars, albeit at number 90. But there is a chance for the public to make amends - cast your vote:

And my vote goes (in this order) for: Pegaso Z-102, Mercedes G, Elizalde Modelo 48, Hispano Suiza V12, Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, Mercedes 600 Grosser W100, Facel Vega II, Talbot Lago Figoni et Falaschi, Lamborghini Miura and Mercedes 280SL Pagoda.

Sorry guys, but will all my love for the G, I could not help to vote for the Pegaso first.

and just to have one UK product in there the E-Type

but regardless of what jeremy clakson says about aircooled porsches, and no matter how much he hates the germans, he's just the coolest motorjournalist ever, everywhere.
i recieve pretty much every german car magazin, and some from abroad.
nobody is just near to him. he's the best. i even bought his last top100 dvd.
to watch it in germany is surprisingly refreshing. for some of the things he says on that dvd, or on topgear, in germany you could go to prison only by saying the same thing loud on the street, not talking about television here. and for him it's just normal.
he's for sure in my personal top ten list of the coolest persons ever.
