Re: caravan/camper type body

Personally I don't get these. They always look out of proportion and "wrong". There's an old engineering adage that says "if it don't look right it isn't"

Some of the the HiLux / Ranger pickup one's are ok but the G is too narrow IMHO.

Hence why I'm going the sprinter 4x4 route.

this one is owned by tschiewagen

quite nice but IMO could do with a suspension lift

but if you really want a over land camper there is some good ones about

Binz the Ambulance specialists did quite a few g-wagen conversions, a raised roof and an extended rear 3/4 being the primary physical difference

these would make decent base for a camper too

Re: caravan/camper type body

I'm afraid the misses just wasn't keen on the G as a travel vehicle. No indoor toilet, shower, cooker etc. so here's our new truck, Vario 4x4

Very nice Tom. Think I saw that at the show in Stratford.

You did Mark. I had seen it the year before at Stratford when it wasn't complete  but its all been finished inside and I just couldn't resist as an alternative to a 'motorhome'!

I'll see you around next year with your baby sprinter!

Re: caravan/camper type body

A friend of mine runs a website called the overlander. Some of the trucks are mind blowing and mega bucks. I had a very nice de mountable on a Mitsubishi L200 which was ok with air suspension added for stability. I now have a Merc based 6 berth which I love and could happily live in. The best company for off road spec campers is BIMOBIL.Sorry about the orientation but I can't change it.

the space available makes a lot more sense than a G as would I think a 6 wheel Pinzgaur
