Burnt out wreck
I've finally got my head around the fact that my G is now a burnt out wreck. I bought it off a G member(Adrian Holden) , pictures on below link:

It was a beautiful car and I had planned to repsray it and update the interior i.e customise it to a similar spec to G500. Unfortuntately the garage I chose happened to burn down, along with another 60 industrial units. (this was the huge fire in East London where Satcchi lost his works of art). I was finally allowed near the garage last Friday and the sight was horrific. All that stood was the burnt and now rusted (because or the extingusishers) shell of my G. It had a huge dent in the roof where a metal roof joist fell on it. It now only good for the scrap heap.
I had only owned the car for 1.5 months, but having spent 5 months finding it and logging onto the forum on a regular basis, it feels like I've owned it for years.
Anyway had to share my heartache with you guys, no-one else understands. To them it was just a car and "you'll get your insurance money" doesn't quiete console as it should.

That is really bad luck. My condolences
I sometimes have nightmares that my G gets nicked or written off as I took 18 months to locate it. I hope you can find another without too much trouble
sorry for your loss ravin.
you had a nice g-wagen there, but i hope (and i'm also sure) that you'll find another one just as nice.
take care

My condolences...
Make sure the insurance company gives you the street value for the car and not the book value.
The book value is something like a paltry £5-6000 and won't be enough to replace it in reality. You should be able to "proove" its street value (regardless of what you paid for it) by keeping records of adverts for similar cars and their values.
In London this will be a fair amount. Start with the dreaded g-wagon.co.uk.
PS - I notice you are still using the old links to the forum. You can access it at the more friendly URL of gwoa.co.uk/forum
My heart felt sorrow for your loss.
Upside, a dent in the roof, a LR would have been crushed, apart from it would have melted to a small patch of carbon on the floor never to be found.

My heart goes out to you. What the hell is it about the GWagon that has us all hooked?
If you soursed a good one at least you know how to go about getting another. Good look to you and may all your bad luck go with it.
