Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on what the 3 inlet pipes are at the top of my fuel filler neck? (1989 300GD), please.

Looking into feasibility of running my G on oil seed rape, need to use existing tank, and wondering if these are simply breathers or unused fuel returns.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

sorry not sure what they are but do read this other forum post on SVO and let us know how you get on. I'm interested in the same.

Have you been in touch with biofuels?

I think you will find that because of the convoluted shape of the plastic tank the various high spots all have to be vented so that you can actually fill it up properly. The tubes entering the neck of the filler are just the vents. However, I could be wrong....it wouldn't be the first time

Breather pipes,

No, I think you have something there.

It is a plastic tank, and having just filled it to the neck, noted fuel bubbling back through at least 2 of them.

There still has to be a fuel return however, and if I am to run successfully on Oil seed rape, I can't allow cross fuel contamination. So, any further light on these inlets or confirmation of the above, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What sort of fuel setup are you trying to run? SVO with dual tanks, switching for start/shut off?

Not sure how fuel spill over would contaminate, and also understand that it is not such a big deal if it does. Considering you could run it on a 50/50 mix.
