Hi all,

Been a while, thought i would share some things of mine here. I have been going over older W463 models in my picture archives etc.

I love older 'Brabus Autosport' Motors, you have really appreciate the depth Brabus put into their cars even today!

I. Have owned two G36 Brabus w463's and can say that they have given me such pleasure to drive. Both models have had buffalo hide by brabus! upper/lower dash hand stitched, door cards and rear benches in their styling, period door kick plates. List goes on and on.

One of my dream motors is the 560GE kicking out 300 BHP, quite impressive in those days! Cannot find none for sale in Europe even today.

i have some pictures of these motors I will share with you....enjoy.

another Rare G wagon I have owned is on sale by a trader on the Autotrader for 25k it's my old 1993 Mercedes 500GE(AMG) model, rare amethyst blue mettalic, factory two tone interior etc. I imported that one myself some years back!

Enjoy folks

Goochie.

I believe the Brabus 3.6 was an adaption of the m103 12v 3 litre engine using a crank from the 3.5 turbo diesel

Thanks, I have a 3 litre w124 which is a quick vehicle hard to imagine what 450 bhp would be like

Picture or door-sill already showing rust.

Interior is mostly nice, but I totally dislike the exterior styling.

Re: BRABUS - How much do we really know about older models?

Hi Gooch, I like your G36, nice colour and interior, well ahead of its time (I assume the G36 was sold in the early nineties).

You mentioned the G560.  What is the story here? I have heard only two have been built (460?).

Re: BRABUS - How much do we really know about older models?

Hi mate,

no this was a version for any G -klasse, basically whoever had the funds available......similar story today.

there are x2 versions of the w463 models that were available from 92-97.

1. 500GE and 600GE(5.6) Early AMG versions

2. G36 and 560GE Brabus

If you study the pictures in the 560GE Brabus and look at my Link to the Catalogue for Brabus you'll see a resemblance in the Brabus trim etc.

Mine is even better than the 560GE pictured.....no lie. Upper/lower/ lower centre dash all leather, digital readout on dash-brabus oil cooler. Door cards in brabus, mats etc, brabus kick plates, burl wood gear/h/l gear selector, even the rear bench seats are in the same design leather. Buffalo leather trim. I have the same wheels with colour coding etc etc.

G560 have always been available but only in LHD form. But very few were made/sold. Plenty of Deutchmarks for that time.

cheers

G

Re: BRABUS - How much do we really know about older models?

I had a 4 door 1990 Brabus G36.  The hp was good compared with the 170hp from a regular 300ge.

I did not liked the leather interior.  the color changed due to the sun and was irregular all over the interior.

yes very true, one thing I have found on the brabus models is that the leathers suffer from losing their colour fast.

i have the same interior inc. The brabus label tag, very rare indeed.
