Just a note to thank:

Parts Rep  - Gav
Midlands rep - Howard
Longtime member - Roly
Evil Northern Rep - David

For some 'on the spot' G help today. My G500 is off the road, due to a knackered Ignition barrel, yes it finally gave up the ghost today, and despite hammering, twiddling, wiggling, thrusting, turning, smashing, punching and kicking it, it would not budge and I could not unlease the awesome power of my V8 5ltr monster.

However - all is not lost - the new barrel should be with me tomorrow - Thanks Gav. Midlands rep Howard for pointing me in the direction of Roly and Roly for calling me back with some great pointers. Evil Northern rep - I have to include as he is my boss (at the moment) and he gets quite sensitive, so I thought I would throw his name in. (only Joking David - Its nice to know you were prepared to drive down and pick me up - in Croydon, from Manchester)

Ok - Let me tell you - IF your ignition barrel does play up - DO NOT DELAY and get a new one ordered ASAP, and try not to use your G until it arrives. I was fortunate to break down in a place that was safe and easily accessible for the AA to collect, but the frustration was it happened at 13:00 - and I am only now just back home (23;20)

So give it another 24hrs and You will be saing " wow what is that noise?"

9.9 on the Richter scale, baby!

One of my 190's suffered the same problem, a real PITA. Glad you got it sorted.

And you will not for a while sad. It appears with all the 'tender' care in trying to get the dammed thing to work has broken the whole steering lock mechanism and it needs to be replaced. So now you have more time to get your harvests in, lock up your wives and daughters and you can keep the pets out doors - well at least for a few more days.
