Anyone fitted the ORC fuel tank protection plate to a W460?

I need some advice…

Anyone fitted the ORC fuel tank protection plate to a W460? I’ve purchased the plate a while ago but without the additional fittings because they said I don’t need it. However, now I am struggling to figure out how to fit it. It seems to require some sort of fittings (nuts and bolts) or should I remove the straps and fit it around the plate? Don’t see the point in that because then the straps will take the abuse… I’ve email ORC as well but I am still waiting on a reply.

If any of you’ve done it please let me know what you used…some close-up photos will be great as well.

I've not fitted an ORC but I did have a new merc plastic tank kit ! That plate is held by the straps.

The straps don't take any knocks because they sit into recessed grooves.

That's the problem with the ORC plate it's not design with those inlet groves for the straps to fit in.

Here's a link to what it looks like if you don't know. You'll spot the additional fittings on the pic but its those that the W460 apparently do not need.

Howard Green has one fitted, I'm sure it mounts independently of the tank

In that picture I'd say that truck has the plastic tank ! 

Perhaps it fixes onto the genuine plastic tank guard then both pieces mounted together using the straps ?

Have you got the plastic tank on your G ?

Yes I have the plastic tank but not the original protection plate that comes with it. That's why the plate...

I had it out to my workshop as well last week and they said as well there is no way they can see it fitting this without the original fittings from ORC. I am still waiting on a reply from ORC.

Anyway thanks all. More advice always welcome...
