Had a quick scan of that, seems only to refer to producers. Have I got that wrong?

I believe that if you make biodiesel you are a producer but if it is less than 2500 liters there is no duty.It seems you need to keep records to prove how much you make.

My G runs on unleaded but the idea of home made fuel does appeal.

Now I'm confused, don't you have to have an oil burner to start with?

in theory you could generate methane from waste or distil alcohol from crops/fruit/chips etc and you could use either to run a petrol engine with adaptations. Both ludicrous esp the later as alcohol is a breakdown product and as such inherently inefficient
