463 manual linkage problem
Annoying fault, everything works fine on gearbox, except going from 1st to neutral , gearbox still in 1st, even though gearstick in neutral. If I lift it up as in selecting reverse generally ok. Pain in traffic! Any ideas , certain it is the linkage rather than any internal issues
Deffo the rubber bushes in the linkage
6 in total, 3 either end, the 3 smaller / harder ones are usually ok but the 3 larger rubber ones perish and rot with oil contact
A few quid each with new clips, pm me if stuck, usually carry a set spare ;)
20 minute job will transform the shift
The movement in the bushes allows the shift rods to bind together and hold gears etc
