463 300 GES for auction
Either these guy know nothing whatsoever about G's or that's the most blatant "come buy me now" estimate!
Fair enuf, but pictures very low res to see any chance of rust being there....someone must know it
OK
So who's gonna lend me £4k on a pay it back when i win the lottery basis?
That has to be the bargain of the year....
What will it actually go for then? Anyone going to follow it up?
Auction August 30th. A 230 GE in same sale.
Are those 460 wheels? I've got 4 proper 463 wheels if the buyer wants to change them.
Its possible it is that price because it doesn't actually have an engine, just a big hole where one used to be?
Remember folks, that's not the price. That's the, lets stir up interest in this lot and get lots of people bidding, estimate.
Hammer price will be way over the estimate.
A very low estimate is just a smart way for the auction house to create a bit of interest, and in this case it has obviously worked .

Quite.
ETA: They also have a 560 SEC with a £500 - £1000 estimate
add on commission and VAT to the hammer price
The estimate is not that far out. I would have thought it will go for 4 or 5k
A much nicer one on a K went through Cheffins and made 6400. That was diesel.
A Steyr 290GDT on a Y made 8k at Brightwells
And a nicer Steyr on a V made just over 13k on ebay.
The vast majority of the Gs on Autotrader etc are vastly overpriced. That is why they stick for so long.
It should not have VAT on it as it is not VAT qualifying.

He is pointing out, quite correctly, that VAT is payable on the commission. For example hammer price £100.00 plus 20% commission = £120.00
With 20% VAT on the commission of £20.00 (£4.00) The amount payable is therefore £124.00
Well then it should say "add on commission plus VAT to the hammer price".
The 230GE is the better buy, good nick for age, rare without wheel arch extensions and low miles. Pity about the engine but you could put a diesel in it.
If the body isn't shot it would be a good buy for 2k.
thanks Dan
Sorry, I need to get out more.
Agree that images are not that great. Front bumper does appear quite rusty and looks like a rust patch on front edge of bonnet so rust could be a problem elsewhere.
It had an MOT done in March - so I guess it must have had an engine then.
