461 WORKER
Jesus circulated a very tempting bit of info that had me transfixed , (to the chagrin of my wife). However this 461 basic 'worker' with its 463 drive train and 270CDi engine is not for mere mortals. Calls, emails, faxes to Switzerland, the Factory in Graz, and the Obersturmfuhrers at MB in Germany have revealed that to obtain one of theseyou have to be a Canton chief in the Swiss Alps in charge of Snow or Cow clearing or a General in the Swiss Army. Being a humble Londoner with a remote shack in Suffolk, i don't comply. If anyone out there knows otherwise I'd love to hear from them. This modell with AC+ESR+rearmost bench seats would be our true ideal.

Note that it is not a RHD version but that the picture is inverted (note that the exhaust should be seen at the LHS, as in any 463 series G-Wagen).
Unfortunately, I had just confirmed (once again) that the W461will from now on be offered only for the military and communal clients. This means that if youn want a new G-Wagen, it's got to be a 463 series.
Unless you buy the one-off offered for sale in the relevant section of this forum!
Also, from 1 January 2000 there are no more Puch G. All G-Wagens marketed worldwide will be under the Mercedes-Benz marque.
can anyone enlighten me, what is the black plastic item above the rear wiper on the white Gwagen photos? I must get one (whatever it is)

It's a (rather cumbersome) number plate holder.
Interesting to see the difference with the interior dash board between civi and mili spec. The military version of the 461 I saw on the MB stand at the Commercial motor show was the same as the worker?? The diff lock panel was the same as the worker.

On the pre-2003 model year 461 G-Wagens (i.e., those which were basically similar to the older 460 series) I believe that there existed no differences between civilian and military G-Wagens. However, as you can see in the above pics the dashboard in the latest spec military G above is completely different to any other that I´ve seen before.
