My 460 interior lights are not working. I bought new bulbs - no joy!

They are not working on door opening, or on the manual switches. On the door opening, I can hear the relay click - but no light... So maybe the relay is working fine - but the current is not getting to the lights? Thoughts or suggestions please...

Re: 460 interior lights not working

try earthing the lamps when they are pulled out with a wire to the body... that will narrow it down a bit if its an earth problem... if it is the major earthing point is behind left rear pillar trim as you face the back of the car..

ive included a pic i took of mine a month ago... its the clump of brown wires near the top of the pic.

good luck

Re: 460 interior lights not working

Not sure if they work on the same principle like a 463, with a push rod type switch. Over time they do get clogged up and a simple squirt with WD40 brings them back (or did in my case)

Failing that - I have no idea.

Hope that helps

if its not the switch which you say is working have a look at the connections inside the light

make sure they are not touching the roof (earthing out) or showing any signs of

over heating these lights are not the best made thing and cheap to buy

Have you checked the fuse?

I think relay will still click if fuse blown, or fuse might be bad connection

Yes, I checked visually. But didn't have the presence of mind to give the fuse a "wiggle" to make sure that it was making good connection.

I'll get to that tomorrow - thanks...

Re: 460 interior lights not working

Solved!

Thanks to all for suggestions/guidance. It was indeed the fuse, which was NOT blown but wasn't making a good enough connection. Removed it and cleaned the contacts - "and there was light"...

Now onto why the central locking is not opening the passenger door...
