Welcome to the new Year to all. I am currently looking to source a front engine sump protector, my G has all the brackets ready for installation, but no plate. I have scoured a good number of sites of Xmas and it does appear that a few owners comment that the sump protector is not supplied on new vehicles as standard. Also, are these plates different depending on year and model ? Any pointers would be greatly welcomed. Cheers TC.

See eBay item 262097044306 There are some small differences between models, but this sump-plate stits slightly forward of the sump. ORC have alternatives.

Have you enquired with Merc  how much a new one would  cost. I bought one last year  for my 300TD for around £200 which I ddnt think was to bad.

Not bad at all !

Sometimes they reduce prices on items where they have too much stock. I enquired last year for a rear, fuel-tank protector, and that was around £600.

Managed to locate an as new sump protector - Bought it off German eBay and all went smoothly for £78:00 - thanks Arnie for the pointer. More than happy, mind you it's an heavy piece, around 12 kg. Hope it helps with the aerodynamics ? Cheers TC
