Re: 300GE with aircon

chassis and suspension points look good, if a little oily in places.

No mention in the ad of it being a Japanese import. Not sure if that matters or not.

Japanese place perhaps?

That's the type of bumper with a front tow hitch. Normally, it's under a fold-up number plate.. there's no tow hook at the rear. it could well be a japanese import, which might explain the relatively rust-free chasis.

This has been on the market for at least 5 months that I know of. Original photographs showed japanese number plate holders. Have not seen it first hand, and thought it looked good value - so hard to understand why it has not sold. Price has dropped a bit too.

On the rear it has a Yanase sticker on one side (Yanase is a Japanese car importer), and the AMG Japan sticker on the other.

Yes, that makes it clear, I guess that's why the radio had to be changed - different FM frequencies in Japan - and yes, of course, it has the window buffeting shields fitted, like so many other japanese cars.

Anyway, for a 1993/94 car the underside is remarkably good. No rust on the springs, or spring mounts and the bright galvanising on bolts and washers is still intact. Might have a little oil leak from th eengine, though. But at £13k looks like a good price. Paintwork appears original, too, and engine bay is very clean/
