25 Years Ago Today! Happy Birthday G-Wagen!!

On 10 February 1979, production of the Mercedes-Benz/Puch Geländewagen (230G, 240GD, 280GE & 300GD) started in Hall 12 of the Graz factory.

Happy Birthday Party....

....in the oasis of Ksar Ghilane in Southern Tunisia, September 24-26th, Birthday Party organised by the German G Wagen Club (and associates). Experienced instructors, G-engineers and mechanics are on site.

The oasis of Ksar Ghilane was one of the locations for final pre-production testing of the G Wagen in 1978/79. Back then only a hot spring in the middle of the desert, today Ksar Ghilane has (almost) all facilties demanding travelers could wish for. The best though is it's location in the heart of the dunes of the Great Eastern Erg, making it in ideal base for exploring the Real Sahara and having some fun with the G Wagen.

Being G enthusiasts ourselves we would be delighted to organise a tour for a UK delegation to celebrate 25 years of G Wagen in the Sahara with G enthusiasts from all over the world. 10-14 days UK-UK makes a good timeframe taking ones own vehicle down or 3-5 days flying out. Cost would be reasonable, btw. Any interest ?
