Try This!
A Forum member suggested this a while ago and I tried it out on Hardnot Pass in the Lakes.
A 300GEL Auto, I think you'll all agree, is not the best hill climber in the word especialy long steep ones.
So when coming up to a long climb slip it into Low range, which can be done on the move (slow!) and you've got a 2.5 tonne beast that climbs like a scalded cat! :D Having 4 gears also means you're not reving it to bits.
