Rear wheel arch trim for arch?
I have a 88 460 that had a set of OEM wheel arches fitted about 1 year into it's life (well going by the date codes). Previously they have survived without the rear steel work being trimmed with 31" tyres but now I want to fit 463 wheel well plastic liners.. but they will interfere with the steel lip. :cry:
1. how much is cut off.. I can use the wheel arch as a guide.. it seems to be about 1.5" of the top section?
2. How is the factory cut lip treated.. it cannot just be left as a bare steel edge surely.. and is there any reinforcement/lip turning etc added to put strength back in?
.. can I face cutting my nice new paint job. :cry: .. in the interests of rust protection.. :?
