Wobbly gearstick
Hi There
Having difficulty changing gears on my old '83 - 300GD (4 speed). The gearlever is completely loose and just wallows around. I have taken it apart and can see that there is a spindle going through the lever and fits in the into the grooves on the shaft. However when I made up a spindle and pushed it through it holds the lever in place and changes beautifully except I can't get into reverse. Obviously it is easier to to deal with a wallowing lever than not being able to go backwards.
What am I doing wrong?
