this is the reply I had to my enquiry

Paul

Thank you for your enquiry. The “G” is very much complete as I can remember prior to stripping the bits off. The hood and frame was all in place and at the time I had full intentions of replacing the hood upon completion of the repaint. (More about achieving show winning standard. Hence top notch brand new condition would only do) Hood is in storage. The engine and all mechanicals were in full working order, until I took the fuel tank off this was to empty the tank and flush to ensure new condition re cleanliness of the fuel system. I re painted the tank with corrosion inhibitor and this needs fitting back in place something that I would do after the paint prepping has been completed. The diff locks were all working fine  however in the event of a problem; From memory it’s a simple repair lubrication of linkages and slide tube device but I feel that is not necessary in this case. Front calipers- not tried the brakes for a long time as I prefer to keep the pistons contained under the seal covers. Undoubtedly the brakes would require an overhaul before going back on the road. I am happy to further investigate the brake condition and let you know in due course. My background is that of a since retired professional sheet metal body builder specialising in historic Alfa Romeos. As part of my business set up I use to run A 5door LWB one of the first G’s to be personalised and maintained in show standard condition. At the time I bought the cabrio with the sole intention of bringing back to a high standard posing machine. Circumstances are that time has never allowed me to prepare the vehicle as I would normally expect to do, this is basically because I am too fussy with even the minor detail. For example I would change the complete side panel rather than repair a hole the size of say a 5p piece! Many purists would say repair retains the originality but my preference is to make sure it is 100% right and as new.The body requires some repairs which mostly are out of sight and covered with carpet or trim.

The interior as in front seats have been reupholstered and made need some detailing to finish. I have a roll of new upholstery material and  some new carpets and whatever else I can find to go with it. I am hoping to loosely refit all the parts back on the G so that potential buyers can determine how complete the car is, however this may take me a while.

I hope this gives you some insight as to what is available

Thanks
