G500 (2001) exhaust
There have been a few threads on exhaust replacement.
The 2001 G500 has a stainless steel exhaust which is manufactured by sebring.
Like att ss exhausts it has mild steel flanges which clamp the various sections together. These rust away and the exhaust is no longer clamped.
I understand that MB will fit a new exhaust for a price!!!. However, given that all that needs replacing is the clamps a ss exhaust specialist can cut the pipes and fit new flanges. An even less expensive option is to have JP Exhausts of Macclesfield fit their special slide on clamp and this solves the problem for £100 or so.
