Re: W460 RHD Steering Arm

You have to get the entire arm, complete with track rod ends and I think there is a stardard and heavy duty version.

There are some posts here with part numbers.  They are not cheap (£300 ish?)

The drag link (Lenkstange) that runs from the Pitman arm (Lenkstockhebel) on the steering gearbox to the steering arm on the right-side knuckle is the main longitudinal steering link on a W460.

Primary OEM part numbers

Part Number Description / Fitment Notes
A4604635115 (460 463 51 15) Drag link / steering drag link for W460 Most commonly cited for W460 G-Wagen. Connects Pitman arm to the right steering arm. Crosses to aftermarket (e.g. Lemförder 12920 01). Typical length ~1050 mm.
A4634630015 (463 463 00 15) Later drag link For W460 from approximately VIN/chassis 007239 onward. Also used on early W463 without wide axles. Cone diameter ~18 mm.
A4634600105 Right-hand-drive (RHD) drag link For RHD W460 (and early W463).

Additional context

  • On early W460s the drag link was sometimes described as a two-part assembly (long/short ends); later versions are typically a complete one-piece rod with ball joints.
  • It is distinct from the center/tie rod (track rod) that connects the left and right steering arms across the axle.
  • The Pitman arm itself (early LHD example) is often 460 463 00 01.

Recommendation: Confirm with your VIN or by measuring the existing link (length, cone size, thread) because there is a change around chassis ~007239 and differences between LHD and RHD. Specialist G-Class suppliers (or a Mercedes EPC lookup) can verify the exact number for your vehicle. Aftermarket equivalents (Lemförder, MOOG, etc.) are widely available for the common A4604635115 / A4634630015 numbers.

Approximate current prices for the W460 drag link (mainly A4604635115 / 460 463 51 15 and close equivalents like A4634630015):

Genuine Mercedes-Benz OEM

  • ~€400–€550 (incl. VAT in most EU listings)
Examples: ~€405 on several European Mercedes parts sites; higher (~€550) on some specialized sellers. UK equivalent around £400+.
Availability can be limited or on longer lead times.

Quality aftermarket (Lemförder, MOOG, SKF, TRW, etc.)

  • Lemförder (e.g. 12920 01): typically €130–€165
  • MOOG (e.g. DB-DS-6135): often €65–€80
  • SKF / TRW / OPTIMAL / Trucktec / Ridex: commonly €55–€120, depending on brand and seller
  • Broader aftermarket range seen: roughly €55–€180 for the common equivalents (some outliers higher).

Notes

  • Prices fluctuate with location, VAT, shipping, and stock. EU listings are often cheapest for aftermarket; US/export prices can be higher.
  • Good aftermarket (especially Lemförder) is widely used and usually a practical choice over scarce/expensive genuine.
  • Confirm the exact number (early vs. later, LHD vs. RHD) with your VIN before ordering, as the wrong length or cone size won’t fit.
  • Check current stock and total cost (including shipping) on sites like Autodoc, Amazon, eBay, specialist G-Class parts sellers, or Mercedes dealers.

For the latest price, search the part number A4604635115 (or Lemförder 12920 01) on a major auto parts site.

Re: W460 RHD Steering Arm

Lemforder was the original manufacturer for MB (OEM)

However, it was acquired by ZF and is now part of the ZF group along with TRW, Sachs, Bohr, etc. You may therefore the same part under any of those brands.
