Mortinson, regarding your comment that diesel cars are not allowed in Greek cities, this only refers to Athens and Salonika. In fact, if one has access to an address in the rest of the Greek countryside, he can register his car there. In theory he will not be allowed to drive the car in Athens or Salonika but in practice the authorities do not bother anymore...
The "reason" for this nonsensical rule is that the quality of diesel is such that smog is produced and indeed the quality of diesel in Greece is lethal. Why they do not improve it since a market certainly exists? I believe higher profit margins and an unwillingness to invest.
