Umm Harald on P3 wouldn't think much of it

But they will certainly look the part :D

31x10.50's made no noticible difference on my 280 but the 463 did feel it. Sorted the speedo accuracy though :D

Re: new wheels and tyres

I can't wait for the next installment !

Comparison no. 2

Fuel consumption, then and now.

I presume you got them for offroading use only ?

If they are what you want for road use, so be it, personally wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Have FUN !!

Regards,

Mike

Re: new wheels and tyres

fuel consumption - never been a consideration before and i'll take no notice now.
The tyres are rated 80% off and 20% on so i expect they will be pants on tarmac but my G is not a daily drive so i can manage that

as for gearing i will solve that with a power up grade if necessary

Re: new wheels and tyres

they are actually peugeot boxer van rims which started life as 16x6, i have split and banded them, my welding must be good as they hold air without tubes! also the centers had to be machined slightly at the same time as the rims where split

Re: new wheels and tyres

Ahh, I knew they were not like any merc rims I had ever seen, but then I thought maybe the UK market had something different.

I sure they do your job , so well done.

Thanks for the info and for being so straight about it.

Regards,

Mike

PS. Very well done on the welding --- a bloody hard job to achieve no air holes.

Should be no problem at all. Size is about same as 235/85-16,
which were optional equipment on new 460's.
My 300gd wears 33/12.5-15's (which are evn bigger) and the gearing in top(4th) is just nice. Rough estimate half-way between 4th and 5th with 205-16's.
