 Hello,
Any advice on the best type of tyres for my 1991 463 SWB?  50% road use, 50% off road.  Usage off road won't be anything too extreme, just muddy tracks, fields etc with some uphill & downhill.  Ideally the tyres would handle snow ok as well.  Wheels are the original factory fitted.

I can't afford them at the moment, but I'm doing the research for when I can!  Comments appreciated!

Re: Tyre choice

Go for a BFg all terrain, for longevity, in the long run good value money

Re: Tyre choice

Hi James,

I've had very good experiences with the BFG ATs: very good all round performance, strong and last long. Also try the new general grabber ATs: they have better grip in snow that the BFGs but suspect that they will not last as long. I'm afraid that neither of these two are necessarily cheap solutions, but they are both very good - safe - options.

Hope that helps,
Phileas

I fitted the new Grabber AT’s last Monday, they look great, quite, and are very good on wet roads, but crap on mud.

I would go the BF G route James, I have yet again discovered there is no “best of both world” tyres. Alternatively you can buy my set for a good price.
