I was going to put the truck back on the road for a couple of months since its just parked up awaiting the new running gear (I broke the VG80 and haven't bothered to fix it since the VG150 is going in) but haven taken the TC out to rebuild, its clear that both the centre and front proposhafts are shot and can't be repaired because yet another imbecile has at some point welded rather than restaked the joints (they are damaged and beyond salvage as splines are also quite worn).

That means 2 new shafts which isn't a disaster since I was going to need to repace them with different lengths for the new engine and any news ones would be length adjustable unlike the MB ones.

Question is whether its worth doing anything different at this point. I'm not thinking CVs or anything (UJs are a much better bet for reliability); I am wondering about lift though and whether a 2nd set of joints on the longer shaft (that  I have seen elsewhere used to increase articulation) might be a good bet. Anyone here got experience or other recommendations
