If the vehicle didn't come from factory with a bull-bar, you could run into insurance problems, if you fit one now, as I believe technically they are no longer legal for road use, as a new fitment. OK, whos' to know, new or old, but it's a risk.
(I bought one some time ago - a used OEM one - that I was going to fit, but then decided againt it for that reason.)
